I Passed My Driving Test!

Good news! I had passed my driving test. Months of hard work had finally paid off. Yay!

Most of my friends seem so skeptical about my good news. It crushes my heart to know how little they thought of me.

One of them even asked me whether I passed my test partially only. How on earth do you pass your test partially?

The rule is that you have to pass your driving test inside the training centre. If you failed driving around the training centre, the Examination Officer will flunk you immediately and you will not be allowed to drive outside the main road.

But for my case, I passed both inside and outside. Hooray!

I am being told to collect my first official driver’s license next Tuesday. Yay!

My dad said that I will have to wait till I am stable and skillful enough to drive his car to and from work before he brings me to scout for my first car. T_T

But I have got my first car aimed! Hahaha … I was looking through websites selling used cars and found the car that I wanted. Suzuki Swift 2007. It’s an automated transmission car and it’s white in color.

My first intention was to get a Nissan March and name it Nemo. But everyone had been telling me how bad the car is. So, there goes my Nemo.

Review: Rajah’s Restaurant and Catering

As I promised, here is my review on Rajah’s Restaurant and Catering.

Yes, you are right! It’s an Indian cuisine restaurant located at Batu Satu. My first impression on this restaurant was that it is just some normal Indian restaurants or kopitiam that we usually see in Brunei. Surprisingly, the food served were a lot more decent compared to the normal Indian kopitiam where we can have a piece of Roti Kosong for 80 cents.

Few months ago, I had an appointment with our HQ HR Manager along with my lady boss at the HQ Office. By the time we finished our discussion, it was almost lunch hour. So, both of them asked me whether I am okay with Indian cuisine. I said okay hence they brought me to this restaurant. The place was fully packed and we managed to get the last table by the entrance. *sweat* Everyone gets to see what you were eating when they came in through that door.

Last month, our HQ Office organized this Deepavali gathering for all of Indian staffs and management staff. The caterer happened to be Rajah’s Restaurant and Catering. The dinner was superb. Lots of variation of curries. If you are fond of curries, it will be like heaven to you. Hahaha … I had a plate of Nasi Briyani, few pieces of Butter Naan and some lamb curry. The lamb curry was cooked just right and the meat was so tender and juicy.

So, I recommended this place to Jia few days ago and we went for dinner yesterday. I recommended her the lamb curry. But unfortunately, they don’t have lamb curry anymore yesterday. So, we opted for Chicken Masala, Butter Naan and Garlic Naan. The waitress got our orders wrong. We ordered for Garlic Naan but they gave us Plain Naan. We only realized that when the waitress presented us the bill. Hahaha …

I don’t really like their Chicken Masala. I prefer the traditional Chinese chicken curry. The Butter Naan was fine. In general, the customer service was good but the food quality doesn’t live up to my expectation. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing. Shouldn’t have gone for Chicken Masala. But I shall return for their lamb curry next time. 😛

Review: Chicken Wine Mee Sua @ May Fang Restaurant

I was so tired yesterday that I did not bother to update my blog till this morning. Went out with Jia since morning and only got back home after nine in the evening.

We had a busy morning yesterday. Jia picked me up from home sometime after nine thirty in the morning. And, we went to this Amway Center for facial in the morning. We shouldn’t have gone for facial in the morning as it was a waste. Facial should be done hours before you hit the sack so that the skincare products you applied will be properly absorbed and allows your skin to do it’s maintenance job. Too late!

We started our facial around ten thirty. By the time we were done, it’s half past twelve and our tummy is growling like thunder. Hahaha … Jia did not take her breakfast and I had my breakfast too early. So, the three of us – Ing, Jia and I went to this restaurant called May Fang Restaurant nearby to the place where we did our facial. It was just next building of Amway Center.

Bumped into our friend while having lunch at May Fang Restaurant. Well, not really. Coz we had already known that he was around the area before we went for facial. Hahaha … We arranged to have high tea together sometime around four. In the end, the high tea reunion was cancelled and replaced by a movie – Breaking Dawn. Finally, I get what I wanted! Jia seems reluctant to watch with me in the first place coz she heard so much negative comments about the movie. But still, she surrendered and watched with the rest of us. She even threatened me that she will slice me into pork chop if she fell asleep watching the movie. I am so scared! *sweat*

Okay … I am starting to get out of topic. Let’s get back to where we started. The first time I went to May Fang Restaurant, it did not left me a good impression on their food quality. But surprisingly, the food that I ordered yesterday was so scrumptious and appetizing! I ordered their Chicken Wine Mee Suah. So damn nice! The chicken portions were generous but mainly chicken breasts, which I hate so much.

The broth was tasty enough despite a thick layer of oil on the surface of the broth. The oil came from the chicken skin. The amount of wine in the broth was nicely measured. The broth tasted a bit sour and sweet. It tasted like something else which I could not remember. But trust me, the broth was amazing!

Chicken Wine Mee Sua … So damn nice, I tell you. Price: B$5.00

Jia told me that May Fang Restaurant is famous for it’s Chicken Wine Mee Sua. She always come here all the way from Kiulap during lunch time just for a bowl of this. But she did not order this for her lunch yesterday. She ordered a bowl Pork Spare Rib Kolo Mee. Smelled nice but not sure how it tasted like. Not so keen on Kolo Mee as I just had a bowl of homemade Kolo Mee in the morning yesterday.

Review: Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Oil

Yes, I have bought this item after debating inside my brain whether I should go for Kanebo or Clinique. But I was lucky to finally give in and decided to buy this instead. Without trying new ones, you won’t know whether it is good or bad.

So, here is my review of Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Oil. I like the color of the bottle. It’s purple in color. The volume of the cleansing oil is 50ml more compared to Shiseido Ultimate Cleansing Oil. As what is stated on the bottle, it’s fragrance free. Not completely fragrance free as there is a light scent of some kind of herbs. Neither pleasant nor unpleasant, just bearable. Hahaha … Forgive my broken English. It’s been a while since the last time I tried to write in proper English.

It took me a while to finally decided on Clinique. There were three types of cleansers of the same range. One of them is the one I bought, second one is in milky form and the last one is the one every Clinique users were raving about – their signature Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm. I tried on all three of them with waterproof mascara smeared on my hand. Learned the trick from other fellow bloggers. Hahaha …

It took me a while to completely remove the waterproof mascara with the cleansing balm. And I think the cleansing oil is much faster in completing the task compared to the cleansing balm. That was why I opted for the cleansing oil in the end. Second, the Beauty Advisor told me that they are currently running out of stock for the cleansing balm. Busted! 😛

Anyways, Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Oil cleanses better than Shiseido Ultimate Cleansing Oil. It’s not as oily as Shiseido but it serves better. 2 to 3 pumps are enough but I used up to 4 pumps yesterday. I was at the temple yesterday night. The air wasn’t clean and fresh. Smoke fumes from joss sticks lingering on your skin. So, I increased the dosage for maximum effect. Muahahahaz ….

Pros:

1. Nice packaging (I know this is not relevant) 😛
2. Fragrance free, hence suitable for sensitive skin users
3. Cleanse well
4. 50ml more compared to other brands of cleansing oil
5. Emulsifies better than Shiseido Ultimate Cleansing Oil

Cons:

None that I can think of right now.

Review: Kueh Chap @ Hing Nam Hong Kopitiam

Jia and I went to this Hing Nam Hong Kopitiam at Menglait for their signature Kueh Chap in town. Took us about 10 – 15 minutes to wait for our food when other customers who came in later than us had already started gorging down their food. It’s an old kind of kopitiam with no fancy decoration at all. In terms of cleanliness, it is still acceptable. But if you are a hygiene freak, maybe it’s not somewhere where you wanna dine in. To me, I find it acceptable as it’s the food quality that matters.

Jia was surprised that I can eat Kueh Chap. Hahaha … To her, she thinks that I am not someone who knows how to eat the internal spare parts of a pig. Hahaha … All I can say is that you cannot judge a book by it’s cover. Both of us ordered their signature Kueh Chap and I also ordered a coconut drink. Regretted ordering it as the coconut water doesn’t taste good. A bit sour, to be honest. I suspected that is not mature yet. *sigh*

Jia said that the herb taste in the broth is a bit too strong. However, I do think that the taste of soy sauce is much more stronger than the herb. Hahaha … Maybe we have got different taste buds. For those of you who does not know what is Kueh Chap, it’s actually a kind of soup with the internal parts of a pig like intestines, liver, kidney and etc. Some of you may find it gross. But it depends how well you can take stuffing the internal parts of a pig into your mouth. If you are okay with the idea, you will definitely like it. The broth is made out of herbal spices and some soy sauce.

Jia said that she will bring me to another restaurant which also sells Kueh Chap some other time. But it’s slightly more expensive but portion is generous enough for the price.
