Chicken Curry Rice @ Cheezbox!

Trying to keep up with my “a post a day” policy, and here I am with a food post for today. Been doing quite a lot of skincare reviews lately, so I decided to d a bit on food instead today. 🙂

Had an early lunch at Cheezbox Cafe & Restaurant last Friday to avoid the lunch crowd. I was craving for Chicken Curry Rice last week, hence I chose to order that particular dish. Their Chicken Curry Rice had been superb every time I had it previously. But unfortunately, it was a complete disappointment last Friday.

I like to have my curry with thick and spicy gravy, in which they always meet up with my expectation every time I ordered for Chicken Curry Rice. Unfortunately, it was a bit more runny and less spicy this time around. And I personally thought that the gravy isn’t that flavorful as well. The chicken meat were tender. I liked that they chose their curry with chicken thighs and drumsticks. The marinated side dish was acceptable.

Let’s hope that their Chicken Curry Rice will be back to their usual standard the next time I dine at Cheezbox! 🙂

Origins & Kose

Friend came by to my office to pass over the skincare products that I requested him to get for me from Singapore. Requested him to get a bottle of Shiseido White Lucent Brightening Balancing Softener and Kose Seikisho Perfect Cleansing Oil, but he only remembered to get Kose Seikisho Perfect Cleansing Oil from the duty free shop at Changi Intentional Airport for me. Lucky that I replenished my balancing softener from Miri the other day or else, it’s gonna be extremely expensive to get it from Brunei.

Apart from Kose Seikisho Perfect Cleansing Oil, I have also requested Andrea to help me get Origins Sensory Therapy Peace Of Mind. Some of you may not know what it is. This is not a skincare product. It’s a relaxing cream with minty ingredients that you can apply on areas you feel sore or painful. The minty ingredients help you to reduce the stress and pressure on your sore areas. I had been having back pain for quite a few days. Having this product can be quite handy at times. Andrea got it for me from Robinsons in Singapore at the price of S$24. It’s considering reasonably cheap despite being small in size coz you only needed small amount per application.

Sister recommended Kose Seikisho Perfect Cleansing Oil to me when I told her that Shu Uemura Fresh Pore Clarifying Gentle Cleansing Oil is not as good as what reviews claimed to be. She said it is as good as Kanebo Blanchir Superior Oil Cleansing and it’s almost half price cheaper than Kanebo. Friend got this for S$29.90 at the duty free shops at Changi International Airport. Original retail price at departmental stores in Singapore is S$35.

Shall do a product review after I have tried it. I am never a stickler when it comes to cleansing oil. I can stick to the same brand for normal basic 3 steps skincare regime, but never for cleansing oil. I’ve tried some of the big names of skincare for their cleansing oils, namely Shiseido, Kanebo, Laneige, Shu Uemura and Clinique. So far, Kanebo works the best for me. And let’s hope that Kose could be as good as Kanebo so that I don’t have to spend that much for a good cleansing oil.

Review: Shiseido White Lucent Intensive Brightening Mask

Tried the first piece of Shiseido White Lucent Intensive Brightening Mask from the redemption gifts which I got from Shiseido. Not sure how much is the original retail price of the product. But I am goddamn sure that it’s not anywhere near cheap. It should be a lot cheaper if you get it from Singapore Changi International Airport. But I am so broke this month so, I did not bother to ask my friend to get it from me when he returned from SG last weekend.

Let’s start with the review of Shiseido White Lucent Intensive Brightening Mask, shall we?

A fellow blogger who reviewed about this particular product shared that it’s more refreshing during application if you pop the mask into the fridge for a while before application. It can soothe your tiring eyes. My friend left my two sachets of this mask in his car under the sunshine for one whole day after he collected them from Alan. I was so scared that the moisture of the mask will be completely gone by the time he passed them to me. But surprisingly, the mask was still extremely wet when I tried on the mask the other day.

It stick to my face pretty easily since there is plentiful of moisture in the mask. I left it on my face for about 10 – 15 minutes. My face felt so moisturized when I took off the mask. The remains of the mask will be left on your skin when you lifted the mask off your face. You can rub them into circular motion into your skin before you continue with your normal skincare routine regime. It brightened my skin complexion after I rubbed the remains onto my skin. And my skin felt soft and supple.

1. Brightened skin complexion after application.
2. Skin felt soft and supple.
3. Doesn’t irritate my skin.

1. Expensive!

Overall Rating: 4.5 out of 5

Had my pedicure this afternoon at AMO Salon after lunch at Cheezbox Cafe & Restaurant. Wanted to go AV Electronics to check if they still have any iTunes Gift Cards in stock but they were closed for two hours for Friday prayers.

I have been to quite a lot of nails parlor for pedicure before, and AMO Salon is the only one that I am most satisfied with. The price is extremely reasonable and the manicurist is skillful with 3D nails art! The shop is above a Malay restaurant, if I am not mistaken. The building is in between Grand City Hotel and a car showroom.

I paid for B$16 for this design, which is cheap. If you are also a big fan of pedicure, you can always try AMO Salon. Look for a lady called Evelyn. Her schedule is always fully packed. So, I would recommend a call-in to 2455124 beforehand to avoid disappointment.
