Late Lunch @ Countrypatch Cafe, Times Square

Had a late lunch at Countrypatch Cafe located at Times Square last Sunday after my 30 minutes of Foot Reflexology session at Thann Sanctuary Spa. Planned to go Yayasan actually, but decided to head over to Times Square instead. Countrypatch Cafe has a main branch in Kiulap which is situated on the same block as Cafe TWELV. This new branch was opened up early of this year, if I am not mistaken. Been there quite a couple of times but I had never been to their main branch in Kiulap. Maybe I should try some day.

On my previous few visits to Countrypatch Cafe, there were only a few tables on the inside and additional few tables on the outside which is around the walkway. But surprisingly, Countrypatch Cafe had already expanded the size of their cafe on my last visit. They had taken up the next shop unit. Couldn’t remember which shop it was previously. When I entered the cafe, the waiter asked whether I would like to sit at their newly expanded section. Hahaha … The newly expanded section was much bigger than the previous one.

Taken from where I sat, hence the dark shot.

Wanted to have pasta actually but I am not supposed to have heavy food after massage, so I opted for their healthy Clubhouse Sandwiches. Instead of beef bacon, I requested the waitress to get me chicken ham. The beef bacon looked very tempting in the pictures, but I couldn’t eat beef.

B$6.90

I rarely order for sandwiches but this was good! I liked the mayonnaise in the sandwiches. The chips were crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. I would highly recommend their Clubhouse Sandwiches.

Foot Reflexology @ Thann Sanctuary, Brunei

If you have been constantly keeping up with my blog, you would have known that I am quite of a big fan of Thann Sanctuary despite the price is on the steep side. I don’t go very often. Sometimes like once in two months. I had been trying to maintain once in a month but then it always clashes with my time of the month. Whenever I wanted to go for a massage session, it’s always the time when “Aunty Red” came to visit me.

I was busy with a Charity Expo last weekend that my Company participated in and I was required to provide assistance at our sales booth. Been standing for two whole days and my legs were sore. So did my foot soles. Wearing flats was never a good idea. And I don’t have a pair of decent sneakers that goes well with my slacks. So, I went to work with a pair of sandals that I bought from U.R.S Inc a month ago. And it doesn’t do any good too. At least, my toes weren’t as hurtful as my foot soles.

So, I drove myself to Thann Sanctuary which is located in Kiulap and the same building as Capers Italian Pasta & Pizzeria yesterday after lunch at home. It was during lunch hour and everywhere was congested but I managed to find a perfect parking spot. Hahaha … I went for my Foot Reflexology without any reservation. Luckily, the spa wasn’t packed so I can still get my massage without any reservation. I was greeted by my usual masseur.

I was being brought to a room with three huge comfy couches. Each couch was separated by an aquarium. Firstly, the masseur would bring in a bucket filled with warm water which is infused with rich mineral lemongrass bath salt for you to soak your feet. Then the masseur will proceed with massaging your back and shoulders whilst waiting for your feet to fully soaked up. The shoulder massage was extremely comforting and relaxing. But excruciatingly painful when she hits on certain spots at the bottom of my back. It must be very sore down there. The masseur advised me to come for another session of massage to relieve the tensed areas.

I was told to sit back and relax on the coach after the shoulder and back massage was completed. The masseur went away for a while with the water bucket and came back with a pillow alike pouch filled with beads inside and it’s warm. She will drape the pouch over your shoulder and it’s warm. The purpose of the heated pouch is to loosen up tensed muscles.

Massage was 30 minutes and it was comfortable. I am considering getting a 60 minutes Foot Reflexology next time. A 30 minutes session of Foot Reflexology is B$25.00 and B$45.00 for a 60 minutes session. I have also reserved a 90 minutes session of Sport Recovery Massage for this Sunday and I am expecting it to be an extremely painful session. Hahaha …

Green Tea Frozen Yogurt @ Mochi, Airport Mall

Hello again after a few days of missing in action.

Been busy with work and I was dead tired for the past few days. Both Ing and Seng Yee were crashing at my place last weekend. We slept late and woke up early in the morning for breakfast before I headed to work on last Sunday. Yes, I worked last Sunday and I compensated my rest day with today. Went for a 30 minutes Foot Reflexology at Thann Sanctuary this afternoon after lunch. Reserved a 90 minutes session of Sport Recovery Massage for this coming Sunday. And I am expecting a hell of a painful session!

Claimed my birthday vouchers from The Body Shop and bought a Vitamin E Face Mist with the 50% off discount voucher. Original retail price was B$18.90 but I only paid B$9.45 with the 50% discount voucher!

Relaxed a bit at Mochi, Airport Mall. It’s been a while since I last had frozen yogurt. They are currently having flavors like Original, Blueberry, Green Tea and Mango. I had Green Tea for myself. It was too sour for my liking. I should have requested for crushed Oreos as my topping so that it could balance out the sourness of the frozen yogurt.

Review: Nature Republic Given By Nature Green Tea Mask Sheet

Some of you may have known that I have bought a few pieces of facial sheet masks from Nature Republic if you had been following my blog. There is no Nature Republic outlet in Brunei so I got it from Boulevard Hypermall, Miri few weekends ago. The first item which I tried from Nature Republic was their Given By Nature Green Tea Mask Sheet.

The reason why I tried the Green Tea Mask Sheet first was plainly because I like skincare products with the scent of green tea. Unfortunately, there is no green tea scent in this mask sheet but only alcohol scent. I was pretty much disappointed when there was no slightest hint of green tea scent when I unsealed the packaging. The purpose of this mask sheet is to keep your skin healthy and radiant with green tea extract.

The texture of this mask sheet is like any other typical cotton sheet masks from other brands. But it can hold up the essence pretty well as they don’t drip during application. Some sheet masks couldn’t hold the essence well and you ended up having to wipe off the dripping essence quite frequently during application. The essence was able to last for about 20 minutes before it started to dry up. Skin was smooth when I patted the remaining essence into my skin after taking off the sheet mask. And my skin complexion had brightened up.

Pros:
1. Cheap
2. Essence can hold up pretty well, doesn’t drip during application.
3. Skin feels smooth after application and brightened up skin complexion.

Cons:
1. No green tea scent but alcohol.

Price: RM5.90 (~B$2.40)

Repeat Purchase? I don’t think so.

Review: Shiseido Pureness Pore Purifying Warming Scrub

Good morning! You all must be getting fed up with all my food pictures so I decided to do skincare product review instead for today.

Got this product from Parkson, Miri a year ago, which was in October 2011. Only managed to squeeze empty the whole tube yesterday evening. Hahaha … Must be wondering how a small tube which has only 50ml worth of liquid could lasts me more than a year. Hahaha … Reason being, I am not that hardworking when it comes to facial scrub and I alternate facial scrubs in between. Hahaha … I have Laneige Multiberry Yogurt Peeling Gel, Kose Seikisho Exfoliating Massage Gel and Etude House Baking Powder Pore Crunch Scrub.

As you can see from the above picture, the liquid is in the form of clear gel with orange colored tiny beads that work as the exfoliant. The gel is extremely thick and sticky as compared to any other facial scrubs that I had tried before. It has a refreshing scent, kinda floral. First of all, you need to towel dry your face before applying Shiseido Pureness Pore Purifying Warming Scrub onto your face. And make sure both your hands are dry as well coz the gel would automatically emulsify into milky color liquid once it gets in contact with water. As you gently massage the gel onto your skin, you can feel that it instantly warmed up on your skin. But not as warm as Kose Seikisho Exfoliating Massage Gel. My skin would feel uber smooth and squeaky clean after rinsing off the gel with lukewarm water.

Pros:
1. Refreshing scent.
2. Skin feels smooth and squeaky clean after rinsing off with lukewarm water.
3. Considerably affordable since it lasted me for quite a long time.

Cons:
None that I could think of.

Price: RM85 (This was the price that I paid a year ago)

Overall Rating: 4.5 out of 5
