Gonna do this entry as quick as possible as almost time for me to hit the sack as I have to wake up early tomorrow morning to settle some staff issue again.
Had a sudden crave for pasta this afternoon so I asked if Jia is willing to go out for dinner with me. She asked where I wanted to have dinner. Told her that I am craving for pasta so she invited Eldie and Jenny along to Capers Italian Pasta & Pizzeria. Jia picked me up from the office sometime around 7:00p.m. coz I felt lazy to drive after a long and tiring day at work. Jenny was already waiting for us outside Thann Sanctuary when we arrived. There weren’t much patrons when we arrived. We had a “cubicle” all to ourselves coz there were about 6 of us altogether.
As usual, you’ll see Missy Jia playing away with her iPhone. And that’s Jenny besides her.
While they were busy ordering food from the menu, I was busy snapping pictures of their menu. Hahaha … Not that I wanted to “steal” any business idea, but solely for the purpose of my blog. When you took a picture of a food, you must know the full name of the dish, right? Hahaha …
Let’s get into the main point, shall we? Let’s hope you are not starving at this hour …
Capers House Special | B$11.80
“Chicken, pepperoni, feta cheese, pineapples and sweet red pepper oregano, cracked black pepper with Pomodoro sauce.”
The pizza base was dry, burnt and hard to me. But the fillings of the pizza were kinda good.
Capers Spicy Barbeque Beef Bacon Penne | B$10.80
“Penne pasta sauteed with fresh garlic tossed with beef bacon strips, fruity barbeque sauce and mozzarella cheese.”
Penne was cooked al dente but it was extremely spicy.
Fettuccine Carbonara | B$8.80
“Fettuccine cooked with creamy egg sauce and beef bacon strips.”
One of my personal favorites among all the food we ordered.
Penne Lamb Shank | B$18.00
“Penne pasta sauteed with garlic, topped with boneless lamb shank milanese.”
Boneless lamb shank? Doesn’t look like it in the picture. Good but a bit way too salty.
Linguine Al Funghi | B$9.80
“Linguine pasta sauteed with fresh mushrooms, parsley, garlic, olive oil and parmesan.”
One of my favorites too! Loved the mushrooms and the creamy sauce!
Fettuccine Marinara | B$12.80
“Fettuccine pasta with fresh tomato, bell pepper, squids, snappers, clams and seafood sauce.”
This was a big disappointment, all of us rejected it.
Creamy Cortaccio | B$13.80
“Linguine pasta oven baked with fresh green wipped mussels, baby clams, prawn, squid with cream sauce.”
Everyone said this was nice. I think Capers can cook better linguine than their fettuccine. I liked all their pasta dish made of linguine.
Spinach Ravioli
Ravioli stuffed with spinach as fillings. It was so nice but the filling was slightly too salty. This is the first thing that we ordered but it was one of the last that came.
A plate is not enough for all of us, so we ordered for a second plate.
Can imagine how glutton we all are! Hahaha .. xD
Fettuccine Carbonara Al Pollo | B$9.80
“Fettuccine carbonara with creamy egg sauce with chicken.”
Liked Fettuccine Carbonara better than this.
Chicken Honey Garlic Pizza | B$9.80
“10 inch garlic pizza bread topped with chicken and honey, with mozzarella and sesame seed.”
Good, but too much honey and no slightest hint of garlic taste.
If you are wondering why are we ordering for more than 6 persons, Capers had been doing this Eat All You Can since years ago for B$14.80 per person. But of course, there are limitations. Only those listed on their Pasta and Pizza menu are allowed to be ordered or they’ll charge you ala carte price if you order outside the limitations. So if you had a pasta craving like I did yesterday, Capers is definitely the place for you to fix your cravings without burning your wallet! You know how expensive Italian cuisine could be.
