My desktop crashed this morning before I went to work and I still couldn’t switch it back on so I had to make do with my newly bought second hand HP notebook which I bought last month.
I am still not comfortable with it as my palm kept on hitting on the unwanted keys. Unfortunately for me, the hot keys are not working albeit I had downloaded the driver. I had checked from HP forum that this particular model has the same problem. So, why hasn’t HP found the solution for it yet?
As mentioned in my previous blog entry, I was on a day off yesterday. So, I had lunch with Jia and Stephen since we haven’t had lunch together for a long time. The last time was more than two years ago at Excapade Sushi, Regent Square. We do go out for dinner together once in a while but not often anymore now that she is married and a mother.
I arrived Kausar Cafe early yesterday as I had finished my errands and decided to drop by early since there is nothing much that I needed to do. Don’t feel like window shopping at Hua Ho, Yayasan as I might end up buying the unnecessary.
I was the first to arrive, followed by Stephen and Jia later on. The cafe is spacious in my opinion. There wasn’t any patron in the restaurant at the time of my arrival. But the restaurant started to fill in with more patrons when it was lunch hour.
Coffee Tarik | B$1.20
Feel like having coffee as I haven’t had my proper caffeine fix for quite some time. I do drink black coffee at home for breakfast every morning but it is not the kind of coffee that I would crave for once in a while. Intrigued by the idea of Coffee Tarik so I ordered one.
The original version of Coffee Tarik at Kausar Cafe is black coffee but “pulled” to achieve the bubble effect. However, you can choose to request for a milky coffee if you are not a fan of black coffee. So, what I was having was basically Nescafe Tarik. LOL! A little bit too sweet and milky for my liking. Should have requested for less sugar.
Lamb Briyani | B$4.90
Jia and I shared this plate of Lamb Briyani but she only had a few spoonfuls and a chunk of the lamb. The Papadam wasn’t as salty as the ones that I used to have before. This Papadam has a thin texture and flavorful enough. But it has to be consumed straightaway when served or else it will go soft and chewy when exposed to air.
The Lamb Briyani came with a small bowl of lamb curry gravy and it goes well with the rice. The rice was flavorful but tad bit dry. Both Jia and I agreed that the lamb was slightly overcooked. It was rather tough to chew on. Soured sliced cucumbers and carrots were provided complimentary as condiments.
Verdict: Customer service was okay in my opinion. Food was served pretty fast in my opinion but Stephen’s drink took quite some time to be served. I quite like the Lamb Briyani which I ordered but not so much on the lamb meat though as they were overcooked.
