A reader had been asking about Artistry Hydra-V range of products recently. So, I thought I might just review about Artistry Hydra-V Fresh Softening Lotion since I had just used it up this morning. Well, I got four products of Artistry Hydra-V range last year in September before I flew to Shanghai for holiday.
Intended to bring the entire set with me but then I am not so keen on bringing full size bottles as I had limited storage space in my luggage. And furthermore, I had ordered myself quite a few skincare items from Sasa too. And not forgetting to mention that I will definitely buy some new skincare items from Watsons in China. LOL! So, bringing full size skincare is definitely bothersome.
Artistry Hydra-V Fresh Softening Lotion
As mentioned, I got myself four items out of Artistry Hydra-V range. They are Hydra-V Fresh Foaming Cleanser, Fresh Softening Lotion, Hydra-V Vital Skin Serum Concentrate and Hydra-V Refreshing Gel.
Both Ing and I were discussing about Hydra-V range when we were shopping at Amway Centre in Miri last weekend. I was contemplating on which Artistry skincare items to get in exchange for the item which I returned. Ing recommended that I could get some items from Hydra-V range. To be honest, I personally preferred other Artistry ranges over this Hydra-V range.
It depends on what function you are after from a certain skincare product. If you want something which can help you restore skin moisture and hydration, I would say Hydra-V is something you could consider. Ideal Radiance range is for whitening and Youth Xtend is for pre anti-ageing.
I am more of an Ideal Radiance person as I love their Ideal Radiance Illuminating Essence. It worked well on my skin. And most importantly, it was a lot cheaper compared to the other serums in the market of the same purpose.
Anyways, let’s talk about Artistry Hydra-V Fresh Softening Lotion before I get way sidetracked. The liquid was housed in a clear blue plastic bottle, which is great as you do not have to worry about breakage if you accidentally dropped the bottle while holding it. Well, one might get a slippery hand sometimes. LOL!
Fragrance wise, the lotion smelled light and refreshing. The word I would use to describe is more like “aquatic”. I have no idea why but that was the only term which float around my brain if you were to ask me how I would describe the scent. It neither irritates the skin during application nor strips skin moisture. And it can also remove excess dirt which was not gotten rid of during cleansing. Most importantly, it doesn’t cause skin breakout.
Before I bought this product, Ing mentioned that this Hydra-V range of products are able to combat oil problem on the skin. To be honest, I don’t think this range works that well on my skin in terms of combating oily skin as I do have an oily skin by nature. But I can see that my skin was a lot moisturized and hydrated after using this product.
So, here’s what I think of Artistry Hydra-V Fresh Softening Lotion in a nutshell:

Smells light and refreshing
Doesn’t irritate skin during application
Doesn’t cause skin breakout
Doesn’t strip skin moisture
Cons:
Not that effective in terms of reducing the oil on my skin
