Cooking Diary #38

Trying to update my blog on daily basis from now onwards but I would draft them in batches and then have them published on different days and time. Mom came home from Kuching yesterday evening and I am off cooking duty for now until the next time she returns to Kuching again for 清明节.

Anyways, let me show you what I had cooked yesterday. I was inspired by a Facebook page called Singapore Home Cooks, which I had been following for quite some time and a couple of them had been making oven baked chickens lately!

Oven Baked Chicken Thighs & Drumsticks

I used minimal ingredients as marinade. I had wanted to buy Char Siu Sauce from the local supermarkets but a colleague of mine told me not to as Char Siu Sauce was made out of coloring only.

So, she taught me how to cook this Oven Baked Chicken Thighs & Drumsticks albeit she had never done so herself. LOL! Ingredients’ portion were based on my own estimation. She only taught me which ingredients to use.

I used oyster sauce, light and dark soya sauce, pepper, sesame oil, garlic, brown sugar and some honey for glazing. Bake in a preheated oven of 180 degree Celsius for about 40 minutes or until cooked.

  1. Omg the oven baked chicken looks so good! Reminds me the one from Supasave, except this one with extra soy sauce. I feel like wanna eat your food haha :9 The chicken look luscious and juicy.

    • You should try oven bake the chicken at home too. It is pretty easy to make and you only need to marinate the chicken the night before so that the chickens will be more flavorful. Do poke or make a few slits on the flesh so that the seasoning will sink in better.
