It was my second visit to BELLUNO Cafe in within a week time! I was telling Jennifer about BELLUNO Cafe and asked if she would like to have dinner together on Friday evening before she flies to Singapore over the weekend. A group of patrons were just leaving at the time when I stepped into the cafe and there was a table of couple enjoying teas together as they were playing with their phones.
Jennifer arrived later than me, which was rare as she is always the punctual one and vice versa. LOL! While waiting for her to arrive, I ordered myself a coffee with soy milk and started catching up with latest obsession of drama series – Haven (Season 5).
Latte | B$4.50
Instead of going for skimmed milk, I had my Latte with soy milk. A perfect alternative for those of you who are lactose intolerant like I am. I am a lactose intolerant but my body can still accept lactose to a certain level.
The taste of soy milk was pretty much subtle in my Latte but there were once in a while when I could still taste it. If you are up for something different, perhaps you could try coffee with soy milk instead of regular milk?
Softshell Crab Linguine | B$15.00
Market soft shell crab, fresh basil, rocket salad, cherry tomatoes, anchovies, tomato salsa and parmesan
Jennifer ordered this as she liked the idea of softshell crab with pasta. She shared with me a portion of her softshell crab and it was good if you do not think of the amount of oil used to deep fry the softshell crab.
The pasta sauce however was a disappointment as it was too salty. I think it was the anchovies which made the sauce salty. When I had a go with her pasta, it suddenly struck me that I had forgotten to inform the waiter about the salt thing.
Grilled Chicken Pesto Pasta | B$11.00
Grilled marinated chicken, homemade pesto sauce and toasted almond flakes
To be honest, I went back for this. Thankfully, it was up to my expectation. At least, the pasta and pesto sauce did. Apart from being oily, the flavor of the pesto sauce was perfect. Both Jennifer and I agreed that the grilled chicken were dry and it lacked of flavors too.

Overpriced place , trying to hard to be hip with fancy dishes . Should learn to get the staples right before trying to be too adventurous .
I have yet tried their other dishes but pastas. Pastas were okay for me but too salty. =D
