Had dinner with Ing and San Diann yesterday evening after work. We intended to meet up around 7:30PM but I needed to finish some work before I could leave. We were supposed to try out TAKE5 but it closes at 9PM. It was around 9PM when I finally arrived at Ximply Chriz Cafe. I was starving already as all I had for tea was some moon cakes. Both Ing and San Diann later as they were waiting for my call at Yugo Dessert Cafe.
The menu at Ximply Chriz Cafe is now extensive compared to when they were just established. But there were not much which I was not interested in. So, I opted for pasta with vegetables and no meat. I had wanted to try their Spicy Mushroom Aglio Olio as displayed on their Instagram profile but they were no longer serving it.
Cold-pressed Orange & Carrot Juice | B$6.00
This was something which I ordered outside the menu. They have individual fruit juices like apple, orange, carrot and watermelon juices. So, I asked if they could make me orange and carrot juice together. And there I had my Cold-pressed Orange & Carrot Juice. It was not bad, raw at first but gotten used to the taste eventually.
Passion Fruit with Honey | B$6.00
According to their menu, this Passion Fruit with Honey is subject to availability. But luckily for San Diann, they do have it yesterday. According to San Diann, this tasted rather sweet due to the honey and hence, it sort of overpowered the taste of passion fruit.
Caesar Salad | B$8.50
It was an additional charge of B$2.80 with chicken. Ing ordered this as she did not want to have an heavy meal since it was pretty late for dinner. The Caesar Salad comes with adequate portion of lettuce, croutons, sliced tomatoes and bacon bits. The salad dressing was well mixed.
Veggie Pasta | B$10.90
creamy tomato based pasta with herb roasted pumpkin and basil topped with baked cheese
Albeit it was stated on the menu that the pasta sauce was creamy tomato based but it did not taste creamy to me and I liked it. I liked the herb roasted pumpkin the most. The pumpkin was soft and sweet at the same time. I think I could try doing it at home next time. With the right spices, I am sure it will taste just as nice. Pasta was cooked al dente.
Veggie & Chicken Pasta | B$10.90
San Diann and I had the same pasta but he chose chicken to replace beef and it was still the same price. I did not feel like having chicken so I had mine plain which was just as nice.
Salted Caramel Chocolate Cake | B$5.50
We wanted to go elsewhere for desserts but decided to stay when Clara told us that she was most likely unable to join us for desserts. Chose Salted Caramel Chocolate Cake as I knew Ing liked chocolate based cakes and San Diann seems to be okay with anything. Both San Diann and Ing said this was good but I preferred the Chocolate Cake from Cake Rush.
