I decided to blog first before I get prepared to attend an ex-classmate wedding reception at Orchid Garden Hotel later tonight. Anyways, Jennifer and I met for lunch and desserts this afternoon after I was done with hair treatment, pedicure and eyebrow trimming. It felt so good to have clean and nicely shaped nails. LOL!
It had been a while since the last time I had been to High Frequency Lifestyle Cafe. Both Jennifer and I had been there once when it was opened not long ago earlier last year in February. High Frequency Lifestyle Cafe is more like an upscale cafe in comparison to the other cafes that we have here in Brunei. Albeit the steep price, I see that they have a regular flow of patrons.
Did a bit of research before returning and I found out that their Mentaiko Fries is one of their bestselling. So, we had their bestselling Mentaiko Fries and some French Toast too!
Latte | B$5.00
Mocha | B$5.50
I had been having Mocha recently instead of my usual Latte. This was not bad but it had a stronger cocoa taste than coffee. It tasted slightly sour towards the end to be honest.
Mentaiko Fries | B$9.00
The bestselling Mentaiko Fries. I intended to request them to separate the Mentaiko dipping sauce from the fries but decided not to as it will definitely affect the presentation later on. The fries were good and so was the Mentaiko dipping sauce but a little bit sickening if you had too much. Best eaten when served hot!
French Toast | B$9.80
cinnamon toast, mixed fruits, maple syrup
This was basically French toast coated with cinnamon sugar. You can taste the egg when eaten warm but the toast turned hard when cooled down. We thought the huge white dollop thingy was vanilla ice-cream and it turned out to be some cream. And no, we ate our French toast without the cream. This was good but best eaten when it was still hot. And the portion is good for two.
