Christmas is just around the corner. December is a month for food and more food and there goes my waistline. LOL! Sister is coming home for Christmas and cafes hopping is definitely part of the itinerary.
Jennifer and I tried out Little Audrey’s Cafe last Sunday afternoon. I will not be reviewing about the said cafe as the pictures which I took were not picturesque at all (not that I take good pictures all the time). I think I will be returning to try out their pasta in the near future.
Anyways, I will not be reviewing about food today but a skincare product. If you had been following my blog long enough, you might have found out about my newfound love for micellar water over cleansing oil. Cleansing oil used to be my holy grail item as part of my double cleansing routine. But ever since I started using micellar water, I preferred it over cleansing oil as it is more convenient and time saving. However, I still prefer cleansing oil when it comes to removing heavy makeup.
On my last Shanghai trip back in September, I hauled back quite a few new makeup removers which included two bottles of cleansing oil and another two bottles of micellar water. If I had stayed in Shanghai longer, I think I would have hauled back even more. LOL! However, I splurged more on branded skincare products this time round as I was running out of my regulars at the time.
L’Oreal Micellar Water
This particular micellar water comes in two sizes. I cannot remember what was the other size but I think it was roughly around 400ml. I chose the smaller size as I do not want to risk getting the bigger size and ended up not being able to use it in the end. Micellar water is usually mild for my skin but there are times when some micellar water just doesn’t work.
This micellar water is a 3 in 1 makeup remover which cleanses, removes makeup and refreshes skin after usage. It is completely fragrance free hence making it suitable for those of you who are not huge fans of heavily scented skincare products. What I love about micellar water is that it is completely fuss free.
You will need a piece of cotton pad, pour a generous amount of the micellar water onto it and wipe it all over your face. I did not try using it on a heavily made up face but it worked extremely well on removing light makeup which consisted of only BB Cream and eyebrow liners. It leaves a refreshing and non-sticky finishing.
As you know, I would not stop my cleansing routine with only a makeup remover and I will definitely follow up with a facial cleanser. It is always ideal to incorporate double cleansing into your facial cleansing routine. No matter how tired I am after a day of work, I will never miss double cleansing. I would not even dream of heading to bed with an unclean face as I do not want to risk getting breakout the next day. Clogged skin is prone to breakouts.
Anyways, here’s what I think of L’Oreal Micellar Water in a nutshell:
Pros:
1. Completely fragrance free.
2. Removes light makeup extremely well.
3. Leaves a refreshing and non-sticky finishing.
Cons:
1. Availability.
2. Expensive given the size.
Overall Rating: 4.8 out of 5
Price: ¥79
Repurchase? Most probably yes!
This isn’t available in Malaysia yet right?
If I am not mistaken, this is the China version but I think I had seen similar one on the Internet but US version.
I’ve seen a Filipino blogger reviewing it so I guess perhaps not available in Malaysia and Brunei yet…
Yeah … If it is not available in Singapore yet, I think it will takes time before it reaches both Brunei and Malaysia shore.
But I see that Bioderma is now available in Sarawak. Bioderma is good but I think there are equivalently good cleansing water in the market now.
