Review: Maybelline Micellar Water

Jennifer and I will be watching Beauty & The Beast at Times Cineplex tonight. I have yet checked the online reviews of the said movie so I am hoping that it will be a good one. Have anyone watched it and what is your say of the fairy tale movie?

Anyways, I had just remembered that it had been quite some time since I last did a skincare routine blog entry. Perhaps it is time to do one since I had incorporated new products into both my morning and evening skincare routine. As a matter of fact, at least half of the skincare products which I am using now are new ones. The line of skincare products you use differ as you age. It is sad but so true.

After having used up L’Oreal Micellar Water, I started using Maybelline Micellar Water which I got from Watsons in Shanghai at the same time as L’Oreal Micellar Water. I mentioned about preferring cleansing oil over cleansing water any time but cleansing water is my go to for convenience. I had recently found out that Brunei has quite a variety when it comes to cleansing waters. I got myself two new bottles of cleansing waters from Garnier and L’Oreal.

Maybelline Micellar Water

I bought this from Shanghai and it explained all the Chinese wording on the product packaging. Hua Ho now carries micellar waters from Garnier, L’Oreal and Maybelline. Pricing wise, I think it is cheaper here in Brunei as compared to the price I paid for in Shanghai.

This particular micellar water comes in two sizes, just like L’Oreal Micellar Water. As usual, I would go for the smaller bottle first in case the product does not work out on my skin like Eucerin DermoPURIFYER Micro Micellar Acne & Makeup Cleansing Water did. Maybelline Micellar Water works as a 4 in 1 cleansing water. It removes makeup, cleanses, hydrates and soothes the skin after application. It is fragrance free hence suitable for those of you who prefer lightly scented to completely odorless skincare products.

Cleansing water is extremely easy to use. All you need is a piece of cotton pad. Pour a generous amount of the liquid onto the cotton pad and wipe it all over your face. Non-waterproof makeup should come off easily. I do not use heavy makeup so I cannot vouch on how effective the product is when it comes to removing waterproof mascaras and whatnot. I like that it leaves a refreshing and non-sticky finishing after cleansing. What’s important is that the cleansing water does not break out on my skin.

And here’s what I thought of Maybelline Micellar Water in a nutshell:

Pros:
1. Fragrance free, suitable for those who prefer odorless makeup remover.
2. Leaves a refreshing and non-sticky finishing.
3. Removes light makeup very well.
4. Doesn’t break out on the skin.

Cons:
None that I could think of.

Overall Rating: 4.8 out of 5

    • I think they are pretty much the same, only matter of which country of manufacture and different types of skin it is for?

Garnier also has two types of packaging colors for their Micellar Water. I was being told that the pink version is for sensitive skin while the blue one is for normal skin.

I had also purchased the pink version of this Maybelline Micellar Water some time last month but haven’t gotten round to use it yet.

      • With the Garnier one there is a difference. The blue one actually has alcohol in it. I guess it would help with disinfecting and people with oily skin.

    • I had also purchased the blue bottle Garnier but haven’t gotten round to try it.

Have you ever tried Senka Perfect Watery Oil? I bought one the other day since it is quite cheap for a bottle of cleansing oil.
