Jennifer and I met for dinner yesterday evening after work. We did not have any particular venue in mind at first. So, I asked her to chose a venue. I had initially suggested Danes Cafe or Boat Noodle while she suggested Margherita Pizzeria since we had never been there. She mentioned that the queue at Boat Noodle is still horrendous in the mean time. So, we resorted to Margherita Pizzeria as we had heard good things about their pizzas.
It came as a surprise when we found out that the place was extremely jam packed with patrons at the time we arrived. We did not expect them to be so full house so we did not make any table reservation beforehand. I asked one of the staffs of the average table waiting time and he replied saying that he could not be sure as there was still another big group waiting for tables.
So, we left and headed to The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf located inside Supa Save for dinner. The place was quite packed as well but we still managed to secure a table. Ever since they had introduced hot food on their menu, their business had been pretty good. I had been to their Times Square branch for hot food but I think they were not as good as the ones here at the Supa Save branch.
Spinach Tagliatelle Alla Puttanesca | B$8.50
Spicy tomato sauce with black olives, capers and anchovies
Jennifer had this and she mentioned it was good despite being tad bit salty due to the anchovies. I had this before as I liked the idea of spinach spaghetti. Spinach spaghetti sounded healthy to me and it still does. LOL! And like she did, I agreed that the pasta sauce was too salty for my liking.
Linguine Alla Marinara | B$14.50
I was craving for something sourish yesterday so I went ahead with Linguine Alla Marinara. The pasta sauce was not as sour as I liked it to be but it worked well enough for my crave. The pasta sauce was however tad bit salty for my liking. The seafood were quite fresh and well done for my liking. The mussels were however tad bit chewy though.
Good news! If you are a member of Love Your Body Club from The Body Shop, flash them your membership card and you will entitle 10% discount off your total bill. However, I am not sure if it applies to the old but valid membership card as I do not remember being told about the discount previously. I was only informed about the discount when I renewed my The Body Shop membership earlier this week.
