I will try to review as much skincare products as possible as I do have quite a number of skincare products which have yet been reviewed. There will be about two to three skincare products’ reviews coming up soon. I saw that Laneige had launched a new skincare line when I was in Singapore last month.
I intended to get some for myself back then but they were not available at Singapore Changi Airport but only at Laneige counters in departmental stores. I am hoping that they are already in stock at Parkson, Miri as I intended to try out their latest facial cleanser.
Without further ado, let’s get started with what I intended to blog about today!
Laneige Water Bank Gel Cream
I bought this moisturizer earlier this year when in Miri as I was running short on my holy grail Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief. As I have a combination skin type, I prefer gel based moisturizer for day usage over cream based moisturizer.
Prior to purchasing this tub of moisturizer, I had tried a sample version of the said product. Unfortunately, the product did not work on me at the time. It broke out on my skin the next morning. We are talking about years ago here (if you are wondering).
I did not bother to get another sample to try out this time round and bought it without hesitation as there was no one to attend to me at Clinique counter at the time. Thankfully, this moisturizer has been cooperating well enough with my skin and it has not given me any breakout to date.
As I mentioned earlier, Laneige Water Bank Gel Cream is a gel based moisturizer that is meant to retain skin moisture throughout the day after application. The product is housed in a blue glass jar and it came with a hygiene spatula which you are supposed to use when scooping out the liquid.
I prefer to use my ring finger though and I would definitely wash my hands before applying any skincare product. The product has a light and refreshing scent which is exactly similar to the other products from Laneige Water Bank series.
The texture and consistency of the moisturizer is light and it absorbs well onto the skin after application. It may be wet shortly after application but it gets absorbed onto the skin quickly, leaving a soft and smooth and yet bouncy feeling at the same time.
This moisturizer works extremely well as a day moisturizer but I find it not moisturizing enough as a nighttime moisturizer. I saw dry skin appearing especially around the nose on the next day when I had used it as night cream on the night before.
So, here’s what I think of Laneige Water Bank Gel Cream in a nutshell:
Pros:
1. Gel based moisturizer with light consistency.
2. Pleasant refreshing scent.
3. Moisturizing enough as a daytime moisturizer.
4. Absorbs well onto the skin quickly after application.
Cons:
1. Not moisturizing enough as a nighttime moisturizer.
Overall Rating: 4.7 out of 5
Price: RM155
Repurchase? Definitely!
