It was the first day of lunar July last Tuesday. So, I was on a mandatory full day vegetarian meal course that day. I went out for dinner as I needed to get Mom’s sim card “cut’ into nano sim at The Mall. As TCVH Vegetarian House had already ceased operation, there weren’t much choices left of vegetarian restaurants in town.
I went Tien Sing Restaurant for dinner as I like the ambiance as compared to the other existing vegetarian restaurants that we have. It was my second patronage of the day. I was there for breakfast in the morning with two of my colleagues and returned for dinner on my own later in the evening.
Sesame Chicken | B$5
My first choice was actually something else but the lady boss herself recommended me this Sesame Chicken. She mentioned that I might not like my first choice as the sauce could be too sweet for my liking. So, I decided to go for her recommendation and ordered this Sesame Chicken instead.
It came with super generous amount of gravy loaded with sliced mushroom, ginger strips, mock chicken and sesame oil as flavoring. It tasted alright to be honest but I found the gravy to be slightly sour. My suspect was it came from the sliced mushrooms. Don’t get me wrong. I am not saying that the mushrooms weren’t good but some mushrooms tend to sour up the gravy.
