21012018 / Mituo Vege Restaurant

After our high tea session with Jennifer and some of the ex-classmates at t-Lounge by Dilmah, Sister and I headed for dinner with parents at Mituo Vege Restaurant. Dad is trying to cut down on meat consumption. So, we opted for vegetarian cuisine. My usual go-to restaurant for vegetarian cuisine is Tien Sing Restaurant but Mom likes Mituo’s Mixed Vegetables Curry better.

The four of us went in separate cars. Sister actually suggested that we drive home to pick parents for dinner. Despite Brunei is a small country, it is quite out of the way to drive back home from Batu Bersurat and then off to Batu Satu. We arrived Mituo Vege Restaurant 10 minutes ahead of parents and we manned the task of ordering.

Parents complained that we ordered too much but we ended up finishing all aside from the broth of Mixed Vegetables Curry. Without further ado, let me show you what we had for dinner the other evening. I didn’t have the price list as I accidentally deleted the pictures of menu which I had snapped the other day and Sister happened not to keep the receipt either.

Claypot Tofu

Cereal Tofu

Sister was intrigued to try their Cereal Tofu. So, we ordered one in the smallest portion. Honestly speaking, I preferred the Cereal Tofu from Tien Sing Restaurant. Tien Sing’s version came with a lemony taste and their Tofu are house made. The ones from Mituo tasted like store bought.

Sambal Okra

You can opt from variety of cooking styles for Okra but I chose to have ours cooked with Sambal. The ones I saw on the menu was Okra with Oyster Sauce which I think can be rather bland. Dad found the Sambal Okra rather spicy so Sister and I polished most of the Sambal Okra.

Mixed Vegetables Curry

Having tried so many versions of Mixed Vegetables Curry, I still prefer this from Mituo Vege Restaurant. However, I did had my fair share of disappointing ones here at Mituo before during Chinese New Year from couple of years ago.
