I fell ill the second day upon returning Bangkok from Khao Yai. I was perfectly fine on the day of arriving Bangkok but feeling nauseous in the early morning of the next day. I went to the washroom hoping to make myself puke but it didn’t work. So, I resorted to sleeping in the living room as it was slightly warmer in there. I was able to get a short few hours sleep in the living room but it didn’t improve my body condition at the time.
I had a little bit of bread for breakfast so that I can take medication later on. I went to bed after taking medication and felt slightly better after an hour sleep. Both Mom and Sister went out for lunch at the hawker centre nearby our accommodation and they brought back a packet of Teriyaki Chicken Rice for me. The rice was dry but the Chicken Teriyaki cutlets were pretty good. I managed to finish half of them and only to have them puked out half an hour later. Honestly speaking, I felt a lot better after that.
I felt a lot better the next day despite having weak legs due to no carbs intake. Both Mom and Sister didn’t go far the day before. So, we decided to go Platinum Fashion Mall on our last day in Bangkok. We walked to Silom Complex from Siri Sathorn and hailed a tuk-tuk to Platinum Fashion Mall for ฿135. There wasn’t much for us to shop at Platinum Fashion Mall and we managed to conquer all floors in less than two hours. Both Sister and I managed to get a pair of shoes each.
As it was reaching noon time when we were done at Platinum Fashion Mall, we walked to Siam Paragon. There are so many restaurants to choose from at Siam Paragon. We didn’t want to wander around longer as I was tired and we resorted to Umami Fallabella. Umami Fallabella is a fusion restaurant of Japanese and Italian cuisine.
Lemon Mint | ฿95
Gyoza Nigiri | ฿120
We were disappointed with their Gyoza Nigiri. We were expecting pan fried Gyoza. However, Umami Fallabella version was deep fried. Flavoring wise, they were okay but we would have enjoyed more if they weren’t deep fried.
Tako Yaki | ฿120
I quite like their Tako Yaki. It had the kind of texture which I love despite they weren’t so generous with the fillings? However, they went overboard with the mayonnaise topping and we had to scrap off the mayonnaise from the Tako Yaki before putting them in our mouths.
Chashu Ramen | ฿220
Chashu Ramen for Mom which the portion was big for her and she had to share with Sister. I didn’t try any of it as I was expecting thick Miso kind of broth like the one from Ajisen Ramen. Both of them loved the Chashu.
Katsu Don | ฿220
I only had a small bowl of this and shared with Sister. I find it bland for my liking. It wasn’t the food problem but my appetite as I was still feeling fatigue and lethargic from the day before.
Verdict: Food were hits and misses for us. The staff attended to us shortly after we were seated for order. However, food came rather slow in my opinion. The patrons from the next table came after us but they had their food before us.
