After lunch at Umami Fallabella, we walked around Siam Paragon. I didn’t buy anything despite there was a backpack from Radley which caught my fancy. Sister managed to get two pairs of shoes from ALDO. I intended to buy some pants from UNIQLO but gave up when I found out that it would be cheaper in Singapore.
Before going to Bangkok, I told Sister that we should at least try PABLO since we didn’t get to try it when we were in Tokyo two years ago. However, I wasn’t up for cheesy desserts at that point of time as I haven’t fully recovered yet. So, we settled with After You Dessert Cafe.
Having browsed so many food blogs, all of them recommended After You Dessert Cafe as one of the must try cafes in Bangkok. Queuing for a seat is definitely inevitable as the cafe is famous among tourist and even the locals. Both times Sister visited After You Dessert Cafe, she queued.
The slogan for After You Dessert Cafe is “there’s always room for dessert” which is quite true in my opinion. There was a short queue at the time we arrived. We approached the waiting staff and were being given a waiting number. Our number were called shortly. I think we only waited for like 10 minutes in total which was considered quick as some of the patrons weren’t seated yet despite that they were earlier than us.
Hot Honey Lemon Tea | ฿105
I didn’t feel like having either coffee or Matcha. I got myself Hot Honey Lemon Tea much to Sister’s surprise. I was expecting a sourish beverage but it was a lot sweeter than I expected. You should never underestimate Thai’s love for sweet food. However, one distinctive feature of their Hot Honey Lemon Tea is that they added sour plum or tamarind. It didn’t taste like the usual Honey Lemon Tea that I have back home.
Hot Matcha Latte | ฿135
Latte Coffee | ฿115
Banana Crumble | ฿175
After You Dessert Cafe specialty are Shibuya Honey Toast and Kakigori. The latter is something similar to Korean Bingsoo but in a cuter presentation. The three of us wanted something hot for dessert. We contemplated between Banana Crumble and Chocolate Lava.
We got the former in the end and it was served with vanilla sauce. The vanilla sauce tasted almost like melted vanilla ice-cream. Their Banana Crumble was really good! The crumbs on the top were crunchy while the bananas at the bottom were fragrant. The combination was perfect in spite of the sweetness.
