Review: innisfree Orchid Gel Cream

It’s Friday today and Sister is coming home next Thursday evening for a long weekend holiday. I had requested for a day off from work next Tuesday with the intention of crossing border to run some errands but it turned out that I don’t have to do so anymore. With the leave approved, I guess I shall make full use of it and take it as a day to rest and pamper myself. I have a massage session at Thann Sanctuary Spa scheduled for this coming Sunday morning.

I haven’t been eating out often recently so you wouldn’t be seeing much of food related blog entries until the next time I dine outside. So, here comes another skincare review to add to the list. Today’s topic is a skincare review of innisfree Orchid Gel Cream. Prior to purchasing the said product, I tried to find product reviews online but only to be greeted with disappointment. Majority reviews which I came across were of the enriched version from the same line.

innisfree Orchid Gel Cream

I am always pouring over reviews online for skincare products before purchasing them as I needed to know how other users rate them. I have a sensitive prone skin so some basic knowledge of the product before purchasing would come in handy. However, my main concern before purchasing this product was the texture. I had once purchased innisfree Jeju Sparkling Mineral Oil-Free Gel Cream and the texture was far from what I had anticipated.

As innisfree Orchid Gel Cream wasn’t available on Hermo.my, I resorted to asking Sister to get one for me from innisfree outlet in Singapore. I had her take a picture of the product’s consistency before I decided on buying it. The texture was exactly what I was looking for but better.

And why would I say it’s better? It has a memory form texture like Laneige Firming Sleeping Pack. No matter how you “deconstruct” the texture of the product, it will return to it’s original state like in the above picture. I didn’t know how long it would take as I had never waited to check how long it would take to return to it’s original form. With it’s memory form texture, I find it convenient to bring around while traveling as you wouldn’t have to fear much on spillage.

The product came with a pleasant floral fragrance which I find soothing. What I loved the most after the memory form texture was how it gets absorbed onto my skin. It gets absorbed onto my skin real quick leaving a soft, smooth and dewy complexion. It makes the application of sunscreen easier as well. It doesn’t leave a sticky feeling on my face and it stayed that way for quite some time during the day. Most importantly, it doesn’t break out on my skin.

So, here’s what I think of innisfree Orchid Gel Cream in a nutshell:

Pros:
1. Memory form texture, makes it convenient to bring around when traveling.
2. Gets absorbed onto the skin fast, leaving a soft, smooth and dewy complexion.
3. Doesn’t leave the face feeling sticky after application.
4. Doesn’t break out on the skin.
5. Pleasant floral scent.

Cons:
None that I could think of.

Overall Rating: 5 out of 5
