Sister and I headed out after dinner at home as she wanted pick up some gluten free snacks from Supa Save, Mata-Mata. Jennifer tagged along for coffee and dessert at Flour & Butter Cafe. We arrived around 15 minutes past 9PM with quite a few tables of patrons having dinner at the time. We ordered drinks first and waited for Jennifer to arrive before we place our orders for desserts.
I didn’t feel like having Chai Tea Latte so I went for Dark Chocolate. Sister wanted to go for their Dark Chocolate too but decided not to when she had a sip of mine and claimed that it wasn’t dark enough for her liking.
Dark Chocolate | B$5.00
King of Durian Cake | B$10.50
Lemon Lychee Cake | B$5.90
Lemon Lychee Cake, launched early this month was one of the newest creations of the cafe. The last time when I went with Jia, Jenny and Irene, the cake was unavailable. The sponge cake layers were soft, spongy and fluffy in my opinion, sandwiched with cream cheese frosting and lychee bites. I liked that the cream cheese frosting ain’t heavy. The cream cheese frosting on the top of the cake were sprinkled with sugar coated lemon peels.
Chocolate Salted Caramel Tart | B$5.00
Like the Lemon Lychee Cake, Chocolate Salted Caramel Tart was also one of the newest creations of the cafe. The pastry crust was hard but it wasn’t as crunchy as I would love it to be. The chocolate ganache was alright in my opinion and the salted caramel was sweet as expected. To be honest, I was rather disappointed with their Chocolate Salted Caramel Tart as I looked forward to the pastry crust.
