After lunch at Charmerize I’m Here For You Boutique Cafe, Jennifer and I headed to Annajat Complex as I wanted to buy Durian Swiss Roll from Durian by Pulp. There wasn’t much variety available at Durian by Pulp so we decided to go for our coffee fix at Gloria Jean’s Coffees and come back later for takeaway when we were leaving.
Gloria Jean’s Coffees located at Annajat Complex hasn’t been open long. I think it has only only been around less than a month ago? Instead of serving only beverages and desserts, they now have an extensive menu of hot food like pizzas, pastas, sandwiches and small bites. Jennifer and I intended to get their hot food but they seem to be heavy for tea break.
Without further ado, let’s get today’s post started!
Creamy Hot Cocoa | B$5.80
As I haven’t been drinking much coffees recently, I decided to stick back with the no-coffee routine and got myself their Creamy Hot Cocoa. It was a bad move to be honest. It tasted too milky for my liking. I think I preferred chocolate beverage with more chocolate-y taste than milk. As I said before, this is solely subjective to personal preference.
Carrot Cake | B$5.90
The variety of cakes available wasn’t extensive. They had Red Velvet Cake, Tripe Chocolate Cake and Carrot Cake. The first two cakes didn’t entice us so we opted for Carrot Cake. The cream cheese frosting was tad generous for our liking and we scraped them off.
I quite like the texture of the Carrot Cake. It was moist enough but overly sweet for our liking. All in all, their Carrot Cake is good but maybe not for those who doesn’t like the taste of ground cinnamon much. It would be perfect if it hadn’t been that sweet.
