15072018 / Roasted Sip, Serusop

It is a public holiday today and most of the food places in Brunei are only open at noon. Roasted Sip was one of them. I chose to go Roasted Sip today as I wanted to get some work done. You might wonder why did I choose to spend money for a cup of coffee just for Internet when I have Internet at home. Well, my brain functions better when I am outside? LOL!

Roasted Sip had recently opened another outlet in Serusop, located right next to Baiduri Bank. I would say it is a perfect location as bank’s customers can drop by for a coffee while they wait for their queue number to be called. Roasted Sip was extremely packed with diners as I walked in. Most of the tables were occupied and the only table vacant was at the back of the cafe.

But thankfully, two diners left shortly after. San Diann and I made a dash for the table before they were taken. LOL! I managed to get all my work done in less than an hour and used the extra time updating my blog.

Without further ado, let me show you what both San Diann and I had at Roasted Sip this afternoon!

Matcha Latte | B$6.00

As I already had coffee for breakfast and lunch, I ordered Matcha Latte and requested for soy milk instead of regular milk. Good news is that Roasted Sip doesn’t charge extra for soy milk. If you’re lactose intolerant and prefer soy milk over regular milk, Roasted Sip could be your go-to cafe. Their Matcha Latte tasted bittersweet and it was good enough for my liking. It was a shame that the coffee art on my Matcha Latte was deformed lest it would have been perfect.

Flat White | B$5.00

Mushroom Quiche | B$4.80

Roasted Sip offers three types of quiches and they have Mushroom, Spinach and Lorraine. While I was still doing my work, San Diann mentioned that he started to feel hungry. Hence, I told him maybe he could get a quiche to share.

I was secretly hoping that he would choose Spinach but he got Mushroom instead. No complaint here as the Mushroom Quiche was decent enough. The Mushroom Quiche was served warm, toasted before serving. The pastry crust was flaky and I liked that it didn’t taste extremely buttery. The fillings came with cheese, onions and sliced mushroom. The sliced mushroom came from can.

Verdict: I liked the ambiance of the cafe. It was cozy. I realized that quite a few cafes in Brunei do not offer complimentary WiFi. Roasted Sip offers free WiFi and the Internet strength was strong. The cafe came with plentiful of electric sockets on the walls. Grab the tables on the sides of the cafe if you need to charge your gadgets while working.
