10082018 / Cake Rush, Miri

I had just sent Mom and Sister off at the airport and came to Roasted Sip to work on my blog. As I was unpacking my notebook from my backpack, I realized that I had left my wireless mouse at home. To be honest, I had no recall whether I had left it at home or the wireless mouse dropped off from my backpack as the compartment zip was never zipped in the first place.

This will be my third blog entry for the day after my entries on 诚式手工包 and Rumah Gelato. After I was done with my agendas at Labell Beauty, Sister and I headed to Pullman Miri Waterfront for check in. We intended to grab lunch first before check in but I wasn’t keen on leaving my laptop in the car for too long. It wasn’t because of security reason but due to the heat inside the car.

Review of our room at Pullman Miri Waterfront will be up tomorrow. Of all my previous stays at Pullman Miri Waterfront, this would have been the most disappointing one. More on that in the next blog entry. So, do stay tune if you are interested.

Our high tea for the day was at Cake Rush as Sister wanted to try their Basque Burnt Cheesecake but unavailable until the next day. Without further ado, let me show you what we had for desserts at Cake Rush!

Flat White | RM9.00

Honey Lavender Latte | RM9.90

Red Velvet Cupcake | RM4.50

My brain wanted Nutella Red Velvet Cupcake and I didn’t know why I got Red Velvet Cupcake instead. I only realized my mistake as I cut through the cupcake with a spoon. It was slightly denser in texture than I remembered.

The Nutella Red Velvet which I had previously was so moist despite it had been a day or two after purchase. I liked that the frosting wasn’t overly sweet and it complimented the Red Velvet Cupcake so well.

Salted Caramel Chocolate Cake | RM12.00

This was one of the chocolate cake available at Cake Rush at that time. The other option available was Chocolate Indulgence which I wasn’t so keen about as I had it before. So, we got Salted Caramel Chocolate to share. Sister loved it because it wasn’t sweet despite being salted caramel.

Hummingbird | RM10.00

I had been hearing lots about Hummingbird but I never had one until yesterday. It tasted almost like Carrot Cake but without carrot. It came packed with nuts and small pineapple chunks. It had cinnamon taste which wasn’t distinctive but not subtle either. If you love Carrot Cake, I think Hummingbird would suit your taste bud as well.
