After lunch at Ricardo’s last Sunday afternoon, San Diann and I drove in separate cars to Geo Eats for desserts. He sang praises of their Ube Lava Cake and got me tempted to try it for myself.
Despite that he had been to Geo Eats few days ago, he agreed to join me when I invited as he was keen to try their Watermelon Crush, Matcha Lava Cake and Ube Cheesecake. We were hit by disappointment when we found out that Matcha Lava Cake was unavailable at the time. Watermelon Crush was unavailable as well.
Without further ado, let me show you what we had ordered from Geo Eats the other day.
Matcha Brownie with Ice-Cream | B$3.00
As Matcha Lava Cake was unavailable, we made do with Matcha Brownie for something Matcha. LOL! It was served with a slice of rectangular shaped Matcha Brownie, dusted with powdered sugar and topped with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream.
The Matcha Brownie had a crunchy texture which I find rather odd in my opinion. Brownie is supposed to be dense but chewy in texture. San Diann and I both agreed that the crunchiness seems to have come from undissolved sugar. In spite of the crunchy texture and being overly sweet, we both liked the Matcha flavor in the brownie.
Salted Caramel Chocolate Lava Cake | B$6.00
This is hands down the best Chocolate Lava that I had so far. It was nicely plated, dusted with powdered sugar and topped with blueberries. The chocolate liquid came oozing out the instance the cake was being sliced.
The chocolate cake was of the right texture. There was salted caramel in the chocolate liquid. It tasted like Snickers to me but in the form of liquid. I personally prefer without the salted caramel sauce and it would be wonderful if the chocolate lava had been more bitter. Having said so, this is still the best Chocolate Lava I had.
Ube Lava Cake | B$6.00
I had the most expectation of their Ube Lava Cake comparatively to the other two desserts since San Diann sang praises earlier on. Sadly speaking, it turned out to be my least favorite. I think it could be due to the wet texture of the cake and sweetness level.
If we hadn’t had Matcha Brownie and Salted Caramel Chocolate Lava Cake before this, I think I would have enjoyed this better. I wouldn’t mind returning again and give this dessert another chance.
