It has been a while since I last sat in Pureland Vegetarian House for a proper dinner. I had been going to Pureland Vegetarian House on every Sunday morning for the past two weeks. Mom has been away for holiday and Dad chose to go on a full vegetarian diet while she is away. I chose to have dinner at Pureland Vegetarian House yesterday evening so that it would be convenient for me to order takeaway as breakfast this morning.
San Diann who just came back from Kuala Belait (KB) decided to join me for dinner on short notice. He thought that I would be going to The Mall for Chips & Dips as that was what I had been saying since morning. True indeed but changed my mind when I thought of the horrendous traffic jam in Gadong given that it’s payday time of the month.
As it wasn’t first or fifteenth day of the lunar month, the restaurant wasn’t at all busy. We sat down, browsed through the menu, ordered and our food came served promptly. Without further ado, let me show you what the both of us had for dinner yesterday evening!
Fried Minced Meat Kolo Mee Pok | B$2.00
San Diann was surprised to know that his bowl of noodles only cost him B$2 each. According to him, he loved the texture of the noodles. They were chewy enough for his liking. The flavoring sauce was done adequately and well balanced. Instead of being served with mock Char Siu, his was being served with fried minced meat made out of soybean. He didn’t like the texture of the fried minced meat though. They were crunchy for his liking.
Claypot Crispy Mee with Tomato Sauce | B$4.00
I on the other hand went for a heavier meal compared to him. The portion was so big that I think it could have fed two just fine. The noodle was served with a variety of greens and several pieces of mock chicken. The tomato sauce base could have been better if tasted more sour. The texture of the noodle loosened up quickly when you toss them with the sauce.
Additionally, I had also ordered Fried Rice with Ham as takeaway for Dad but requested no frozen mixed vegetables.
