As I have a wedding to attend in Labuan this weekend, I made an appointment for hair rebonding with Frances. I was there at 9AM and I left the salon 6.5 hours later. That was the one reason as to why I hate doing hair rebonding despite my hair needs it very badly once in every 6 months.
By the time I stepped my foot out of the salon, I was famished. My first choice was Shi Wei Tian Kopitiam in Kiulap but settled with BAKE 250°C in the end as I wanted to try their Salted Egg Chicken Burger. The cafe was empty at the time I walked in but there was a group of three coming in as I was about to leave.
As I knew what I wanted to eat, I got the business done quickly. Food was served in about 10 to 15 minutes as the chicken patty was deep fried to order. Without further ado, let me show you how the Salted Egg Chicken Burger from BAKE 250°C looks like!

The burger was served with a side of straight cut fries. The fries were pretty good in my opinion. They were not as good as the ones which I previously had at Burger King but good enough comparatively to some others in Brunei. The burger came with a piece of deep fried battered chicken fillet with greens like lettuce, tomato, cucumber, green and red capsicum. There was a slice of cheddar cheese underneath the deep fried chicken fillet.
The highlights of this dish were the deep fried chicken fillet and salted egg sauce. The former was perfectly deep fried with a crunchy texture on the skin. The meat on the inside was surprisingly juicy and tender. The deep fried chicken complemented very well with the salted egg sauce. The consistency of the sauce was not liquidy with a few curry leaves to enhance the taste. The portion of salted egg in the sauce was very well balanced in my opinion.
All in all, I was satisfied with their Salted Egg Chicken Burger and it fared a lot better than the one from BELLUNO Cafe. If you have a soft spot for Salted Egg Burger, do give this one a try. I am sure you would love it as much as I do. However, I would very much prefer if the straight cut fries were seasoned with only salt?
