06102018 / Matchaya, Icon Village Singapore

After we had lunch at Two Men Bagel House, we wandered around Icon Village and came across Matchaya. Prior to going Singapore, I found out that Matchaya would introduce a mystery flavor from time to time and they were having Japanese Maple aka Mitarashi Soft Serve at the time.

For your information, most of their mystery flavors are only available at Icon Village outlet. We were lucky that Matchaya was still having Japanese Maple aka Mitarashi Soft Serve for the last two days and it was discontinued later on. They had Apple Cinnamon before Japanese Maple.

As mentioned above, this was the mystery flavor that Matchaya was having at the time. It was served with three pieces of Japanese maple syrup torched Mitarashi Dango. Dango is known to be the Japanese mochi and both Sister and I loved the “Q” texture.

As they ran out of the maple leaf shaped cookie, they replaced it with their regular Butter Finger Cookie. We loved the smooth, milky and creamy consistency of the soft serve. It also came with a fragrant aroma of maple syrup. However, the sweetness can get a bit overwhelming when you finished the whole thing.

Sister who never had their Matcha Soft Serve decided to try one for herself. If you love bitter Matcha of high intensity, this might be the thing for you. It didn’t come with the bittersweet aftertaste that I like in a Matcha dessert. That being said, I did love the smooth and creamy consistency of the soft serve. The soft serve came served with a butter finger cookie.
