After our extremely quick dinner (we finished all our food in less than 15 minutes) at Brukori, we headed to Flour & Butter Cafe for desserts. Flour & Butter Cafe had all their crepe cakes available on last Halloween week and they had even introduced a new flavor – Chocolate Crepe.
I wasn’t very keen on Chocolate Crepe at the time. San Diann who had tried it the day before commented that it was pretty good. Well, you normally don’t get to hear negative food comments from him. However, he did mentioned that it had to be paired with a cup of hot drink to wash down the heaviness of the cream.
Yam Cake | B$4.90
This was my first time encountering their Yam Cake on display ever since it was introduced. I am quite a fan of Yam desserts so I got this to try. It came with two layers of Yam fillings sandwiched in between two layers of vanilla sponge layers.
San Diann commented that the sponge layers were soft. The Yam filling tasted distinctive of Yam and it was smooth in texture. The Yam filling wasn’t artificially flavored but made with the real Yam.
Oreo Crepe Cake | B$4.90
Another cake offered which I was interested was this Oreo Crepe Cake. There was a period of time when I loved almost anything Oreo. LOL! The cake came with 20 or more thin crepe slices sandwiched in between layers of Oreo cream frosting. The cake was topped with crushed Oreo as decoration. You can see some bigger chunks of crushed Oreo in the frosting.
The sweetness level was good enough in my opinion but the Oreo cream frosting was a little bit too heavy for my liking. I was only able to finish a few spoonfuls before telling San Diann to finish the rest. Having said so, I would say this is one decent Oreo Crepe Cake if you like Oreo.
