30112018 / Flour & Butter Cafe

On last Friday evening, I had dinner at Flour & Butter Cafe. It had been quite some time since the last time I had dinner at Flour & Butter Cafe. I did return to Flour & Butter Cafe once in a while but mostly for their drinks and cakes. My last visit before this was about three weeks ago when I was craving for their Iced Green Tea Latte and Carrot Cake.

Iced Dark Chocolate | B$5.90

Chai Latte | B$5.50

This was my first Chai Latte in a year and a half. I had avoided coffee based beverages for a period of time and I had been more lenient on myself recently. So, I got my favourite Chai Latte from this time round instead of the usual Chai Tea Latte.

My favorites from Flour & Butter Cafe are their Chai Latte and Dark Chocolate. My drink was served with a piece of Chocolate Almond Cookie and Peanut Cookie. Both were good but I prefer their Butter Cookie over the Chocolate Almond.

Shortly after we were seated, the cafe’s owner – Alex came forward to take our orders. He recommended us the Soft Shell Crab Croissant Burger on their seasonal special menu of the time being. I am not a big fan of soft shell crab to be honest. So, he recommended Zucchini Pesto with Cauliflower Patties instead.

As I had been trying to cut down on my wheat intake, I asked if the dish contained wheat. According to Alex, it contained no wheat and it is a Keto friendly dish. The Keto friendly statement tempted me and I agreed to try. Unfortunately, they ran out of it on that evening but I’ll definitely return for it soon before it goes out of the seasonal special menu.

Egg Croissant | B$5.90

As Zucchini Pesto with Cauliflower Patties was unavailable, I had their Egg Croissant. I know croissant contained wheat but it’s lesser comparatively to pasta. As I already had Tuna Salad Bowl for breakfast, Egg Croissant sounded better at the time. The portion was just nice for me. They serve Tuna Croissant too if you are interested.

Garlic Lemon Butter Prawn Pasta | B$12.90

San Diann got this for himself. I think he liked the combo as he didn’t mention of the pasta sauce being overly creamy. The lemon definitely played a huge role in toning down the creaminess. When I had this previously, I had requested for less cream though. Whenever I order a cream based pasta, less cream is definitely on my request list.
