Yesterday dinner was an early one at My Village Kopitiam. I had my breakfast around 10-ish in the morning before heading out to do my eyebrows. San Diann and I then met up for coffees and cake at the latest Bloom Cafe situated at One Riverside Residence in Menglait.
I skipped lunch yesterday hence I was feeling the hunger as I was doing grocery shopping around 4PM. Decided to go for late lunch and early dinner at My Village Kopitiam since it’s located nearby where I was at the time. The place wasn’t busy at the time so I got my order quick and fast. I ordered their American Fried Rice as I was craving for both deep fried chicken and fried rice.

The chicken chop was battered and then deep fried, topped with their in-house tomato based sauce and assorted vegetables. They used the meat of a chicken whole leg for the chicken chop to ensure that the meat stayed moist and tender even when deep fried.
The egg fried rice was well done but the chef went slightly heavy with the black pepper powder seasoning. Despite the tiny flaw with the seasoning, I liked that the rice were grainy enough for my liking and topped with a perfectly made sunny side up. The chicken ham served on the side was deep fried too but the particular brand of chicken ham which they used was too salty for my liking.
All in all, this was a perfect dish to satisfy my craving for deep fried chicken and egg fried rice at the same time! Craving for the same thing like I did? Head over to My Village Kopitiam located on the same block as Mum Bakery in Serusop. They are open as early as 7AM and close at 6PM. Do note that they are only open in the morning Fridays.
