My colleagues and I met up for breakfast this morning before work. I didn’t go for my morning walk at Tasek Lama today. I intended to wake up earlier so that I could walk for about an hour in my neighborhood but I overslept. I didn’t had a good sleep yesterday as I woke up twice in the middle of the night for toilet breaks.
My colleagues invited me for breakfast at Fuchow Restaurant this morning. They were already seated and having coffees when I arrived. I woke up late with only half an hour to shower and get ready. I usually wake up an hour earlier to get ready before leaving the house.
Fried Zao Cai Thick Bee Hoon
When craving for Fuchow cuisine, one of the best places to go in Brunei is Fuchow Restaurant. I rarely go Fuchow Restaurant as I find the quality rather inconsistent. However, my colleagues commented that they have improved. Perhaps there had been a change with the kitchen members?
I had the Halal version of this dish at Food House Eatery on Christmas morning. The one I had this morning was cooked with cooking wine and served with Char Siu. The thick Bee Hoon was well soaked and they softened up. The level of sourness was good enough for me. In overall, this was a good non-Halal version of Fried Zao Cai Thick Bee Hoon.
