Mom and I were out two Sunday ago as she wanted to buy a new phone. We got the deed done fast and furious. LOL! I think we were out of the shop in about half an hour, including installation and whatnot. I was feeling hungry as we were waiting for the phone to be ready.
I wanted to drop by TWO SONS COFFEE but Mom wasn’t keen on cakes and Western coffees as much as I do. As we were already in Kiulap area, I decided to drop by Sweet Nonya Delights Cafe as it had been a while since I last been there.
Kopi O
Pumpkin Kueh | B$0.80 & Kuih Lapis | B$0.80
Mom commented that the Pumpkin Kueh was good. Both flavors and seasonings were very well executed. I had more of the Kuih Lapis. It was too sweet for my liking and tasted strong of coconut milk. The layers weren’t strong in coloring, which was a good thing.
Kuching Laksa | B$5.00
As I had been avoiding wheat/gluten, I had requested for Bee Hoon instead of yellow noodle. I was served the latter but they were nice enough to make a replacement with the right choice of noodle.
Served with Bee Hoon, thinly sliced omelette, shredded chicken and prawns in a coconut milk infused Laksa gravy. The Laksa gravy came with a hint of sweetness and it could be from the coconut milk. It was not as spicy as I hoped for but good enough to suffice my craving at the time. Mom also added that this didn’t taste like the Laksa which she used to have in Kuching.
