Aloha! I am back again after a short hiatus. My food buddy – San Diann and I visited Caffe Verve for lunch two Sunday ago as he wanted to try their Duck Ragu. The location was perfect for me as my hair appointment was just nearby.
Clockwork Orange | B$6.90
Verve Chai Latte | B$5.90
I wanted Cinnamon Latte but it had been taken off the menu. So, I had Verve Chai Latte with soy milk. It was not bad actually but too sweet for my liking. I think they were using Chai syrup instead of Chai tea bags hence the sweetness. I am pretty sure it would taste nicer if less sweet.
Lamb Ragu | B$16.00
stewed leg of lamb, enriched tomato sauce, served with your choice of pasta (spaghetti or penne)
San Diann was excited to try their Duck Ragu. Much to his disappointment, it was unavailable so he had Lamb Ragu instead. I did a bit of taste test. The pasta (spaghetti) was cooked al dente. The sauce was sweet and the lamb slices weren’t tender enough. This is completely subjective as San Diann liked it.
Salmon Fish & Chips | B$16.00
We are mostly familiar with Fish & Chips served with dory fillets but maybe not salmon? Or at least it was to me. Imagine my excitement when I found out that Caffe Verve serves theirs with salmon!
It was served with two thick slabs of battered salmon fillets, chips and tartar sauce. Salmon fillets were nicely done with a crunchy exterior but remained, moist, juicy and succulent on the flesh! The chips were well done and paired well with the tartar sauce. All in all, this was a satisfactory Fish & Chips with a healthy twist!
