Review: Mock Kueh Chap @ Pureland Vegetarian Restaurant

Had dinner with two of my colleagues after work at Pureland Vegetarian Restaurant yesterday evening. At first, I wanted to go Mituo Vegetarian Restaurant but one of them suggested the former instead. We drove in separate cars and I was there first. Ordered a cup of warm Honey Lemon drink for myself because I was having flu and mild sore throat. I am a lot better today but my nose ain’t cooperating with me today.

I wanted to have Kueh Chap yesterday morning when I was having breakfast at Lian Fu Restaurant Restaurant & Catering. But then the waitress told me that they only serve Kueh Chap on every Friday and weekends. So when I saw that Pureland have Mock Kueh Chap in their menu, I ordered it straightaway without having second thought. The difference between an original Kueh Chap and Mock Kueh Chap is that original Kueh Chap consisted of the internal glands of a pig while Mock Kueh Chap is made out of mock internal glands. These mock internal glands were made out of wheat flour. They looked extremely alike but taste wise, of course there was a big difference. I think this is a well-worth dish for the price paid. The ingredients were generous and the flavoring was just right.
