Dinner yesterday evening was with two of my colleagues after work. One of them was craving for pasta. So, I recommended Flour & Butter Cafe for their Tom Yam Pasta with Seabass. Thankfully, both of them liked what they had. It had been a while since the last time I had a full dinner after coming back from Singapore earlier this month.
I had been trying to control my food intake but I sort of failed yesterday evening. So, I woke up early this morning to jog for a short while before getting ready for work. Without further ado, let me show you what we had for dinner yesterday evening! We ordered two main courses and two appetizers to share.
Fries | B$4.90
Flour & Butter Cafe offers two flavors for their fries – coffee or regular. I had tried the former previously and I didn’t like it as much as the latter. We had requested that our fries come without the dried rosemary as one of my colleagues is allergic towards it.
The fries were served with a side of ketchup and chili sauce. The texture of the fries was a lot better than I remembered. They weren’t crispy on the outside and soft on the inside kind of texture but close enough to my liking. My personal favorite of such kind of fries are the ones from Burger King to date.
Chicken Wings | B$5.00
Having been to Flour & Butter Cafe numerous times since their opening, this was my first time trying out their Chicken Wings and they were quite good. We liked the crunchy batter. The meat on the inside was well done and juicy when you peeled off the crispy and crunchy skin. They were a little bit bland so they went well with the ketchup and chili sauce that came with the dish.
Tom Yam Pasta with Seabass | B$11.90
Chicken Chop | B$9.90
boneless chicken drizzled with mushroom sauce and mashed potato
A colleague and I shared this plate of Chicken Chop as we didn’t feel like having a main course to overselves. We planned to save some tummy space for desserts later. The mashed potato was good. It had an extremely smooth and melt-in-the-mouth kind of texture.
The chicken chop was nicely done and the mushroom sauce complimented the chicken chop. However, there was one let down of this dish. We agreed that the vegetables were slightly overcooked. It would had been one perfect dish if the vegetables weren’t overcooked. I would say this is completely subjective to personal preference. Some like their vegetables soft. We like our vegetables with a little bit of texture. LOL!
