27072018 / Roasted Sip, Serusop

I returned to Roasted Sip in Serusop again last Friday evening after work. The cafe was pretty quiet at the time when I walked in but started to fill up shortly after. As I was a full vegan that day, there weren’t much for me to order aside from drinks and desserts.

Spiced Chai Latte | B$5.50

I had Spiced Chai Latte and requested for soy milk instead of regular milk. The latte was dusted with grounded cinnamon powder and it added flavors that I loved. However, it would have been nicer if the Spiced Chai wasn’t that sweet. It was one of the best ones in Brunei but would definitely be better with lower sugar level.

Double Chocolate Muffin | B$4.50

There weren’t much choices for muffins and the only one which caught my fancy was their Double Chocolate Muffin. The muffin was served warm. It was soft and almost spongy but lacked the moist that I anticipated. The amount of chocolate chips in the muffin was extremely limited in my opinion. I think I only had a bite of the chocolate chips. Sweetness level was just right though.

25072018 / The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, Mata-Mata

After our dinner at Flour & Butter Cafe few nights ago, my colleagues and I headed to Supa Save in Mata-Mata for grocery shopping. After we were done with it, we walked to Patisserie for desserts but they were closing early for the day.

The choices of desserts at Patisserie were extensive but they can only accommodate takeaway. We wanted to sit in to properly enjoy our desserts. We left and walked back to The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. We were craving for Carrot Cake but the one from CBTL didn’t really tempt us and we got a Club Sandwich instead to share.

Club Sandwich | B$8.90

roasted chicken, beef rashers, tomato, cucumber, romaine lettuce on toasted artisan bread

As none of us in the group eats beef, we had requested for the beef rashers to be omitted. The Club Sandwich came with a bigger portion of roasted chicken (I think) since there was no beef rashers.

We loved the toasted artisan bread. The crust was thick and hard but the inside was soft. They weren’t as soft and fluffy as regular plain white bread though. The Thousand Island dressing complimented the roasted chicken well.

Of Random Things #179

I had been downloading quite a bit this month since coming home from Singapore to the extent that I had maxed out my Internet quota for the month. I had topped up another 60GB but I am not sure if it would be enough to last me till the last day of the month. San Diann was asking me what did I download to use up 200GB worth of data. LOL!

I had been downloading quite a bit of Mainland drama series recently and some of them were about 20GB of file size for an entire complete series. I am hoping that TelBru will offer B$5 of unlimited data in 48 hours soon. That way, I don’t have to worry about downloading and maxing out my Internet quota for the month.

I am currently on the 30th episode of Rush to the Dead Summer and I think I would finish it by this Sunday. The series is actually quite funny if I may say.

Sweet Combat

24 Hours

There was no particular reason as to why I downloaded 24 Hours. It was one of the dramas that was listed in the completed section. Have anyone watched it and what are you thoughts?

It had been a while since there was a long list of new Korean drama series releases in within a short period of time. Aside from the ones that I am downloading, I am actually anticipating My ID is Gangnam Beauty which will start airing tomorrow.

25072018 / Flour & Butter Cafe

Dinner yesterday evening was with two of my colleagues after work. One of them was craving for pasta. So, I recommended Flour & Butter Cafe for their Tom Yam Pasta with Seabass. Thankfully, both of them liked what they had. It had been a while since the last time I had a full dinner after coming back from Singapore earlier this month.

I had been trying to control my food intake but I sort of failed yesterday evening. So, I woke up early this morning to jog for a short while before getting ready for work. Without further ado, let me show you what we had for dinner yesterday evening! We ordered two main courses and two appetizers to share.

Fries | B$4.90

Flour & Butter Cafe offers two flavors for their fries – coffee or regular. I had tried the former previously and I didn’t like it as much as the latter. We had requested that our fries come without the dried rosemary as one of my colleagues is allergic towards it.

The fries were served with a side of ketchup and chili sauce. The texture of the fries was a lot better than I remembered. They weren’t crispy on the outside and soft on the inside kind of texture but close enough to my liking. My personal favorite of such kind of fries are the ones from Burger King to date.

Chicken Wings | B$5.00

Having been to Flour & Butter Cafe numerous times since their opening, this was my first time trying out their Chicken Wings and they were quite good. We liked the crunchy batter. The meat on the inside was well done and juicy when you peeled off the crispy and crunchy skin. They were a little bit bland so they went well with the ketchup and chili sauce that came with the dish.

Tom Yam Pasta with Seabass | B$11.90

Chicken Chop | B$9.90

boneless chicken drizzled with mushroom sauce and mashed potato

A colleague and I shared this plate of Chicken Chop as we didn’t feel like having a main course to overselves. We planned to save some tummy space for desserts later. The mashed potato was good. It had an extremely smooth and melt-in-the-mouth kind of texture.

The chicken chop was nicely done and the mushroom sauce complimented the chicken chop. However, there was one let down of this dish. We agreed that the vegetables were slightly overcooked. It would had been one perfect dish if the vegetables weren’t overcooked. I would say this is completely subjective to personal preference. Some like their vegetables soft. We like our vegetables with a little bit of texture. LOL!

24072018 / Roasted Sip, Serusop

I returned to Roasted Sip in Serusop yesterday evening after work. I went there to do some work and a little bit of downloading. I had maxed out my household Internet quota for the month. I had topped up another 60GB but I’m not sure if it could lasts till the end of this month since both my parents stream YouTube often.

I had my dinner at Roasted Sip. There weren’t much choices available, mostly cakes and finger foods like sandwiches. I didn’t felt like having Quiche again so I ordered myself a Tuna and Egg Sandwich.

Jelatte | B$6.50

I had been told that their Jelatte was good and it did live up to my expectation despite being on the pricier side. I requested for soy milk at no extra charge. The coffee taste was distinctive and yet smooth. Despite soy milk was used, it was extremely subtle and tasted like ordinary milk.

Tuna and Egg Sandwich | B$5.50

classic tuna salad and hard boiled egg on a freshly toasted bread

Like I mentioned above, Roasted Sip doesn’t serve much food aside from cakes and finger foods. They only had a choice of sandwich available and it was the Tuna and Egg Sandwich. The bread was served toasted but the fillings were chilled. I liked that the egg was hard boiled instead of mashed up like the tuna filling. The sandwich was served with a side of potato chips.
