20022018 / ThaiThyme, Bangkok

Our last dinner in Bangkok was at this fusion restaurant called ThaiThyme located within walking distance from our hotel. There were a few others restaurants along the same street but majority were packed to the brim. ThaiThyme was pretty vacant at the time we walked in.

Shortly after we were seated, we were being given menu booklets. The staff who attended to us informed us the availability of their food. At least half of the menu weren’t available. Majority of my first choices were unavailable. I was rather annoyed to the extent that I wanted to get up and go elsewhere for dinner. By the end of the day, we managed to order a pasta and pizza to share.

Iced Thai Milk Tea | ฿70

When in Thailand, one should at least try their signature Thai Milk Tea once. As a matter of fact, this was my second. Having learnt my lesson, I requested for less sugar when placing my order for this. This came out to be completely sugar free to which the tea ended up tasting distinctive.

Carbonara | ฿195

My first choice was Pesto Pasta but unavailable. So, I got their Carbonara with pork bacon. I requested for less carbonara cream. The pasta was cooked al dente in my opinion. They were extremely generous with the pork bacon. The consistency of the pasta sauce was just nice for me. I’m not much of a Carbonara person but this was good.

Hawaiian | ฿275

Hawaiian Pizza but without pineapple. Where are my pineapples??!! The pizza was thin crusted topped with generous tomato paste, onions, ham and cheese. If you are a pizza lover, I highly recommend their pizza.
