11112017 / Little Audrey’s Café

I made plans to have dinner with my colleagues yesterday evening after coming back from Miri. Everyone was asking me if I could make it back on time. Well, it shouldn’t be much of a problem if I plan my time wisely. I make sure to leave Miri the latest by 3PM so that I can be back to Bandar by 6PM provided that there’s no heavy traffic. I managed to reach home quarter past five with plenty of time to rest before getting ready for dinner.

The journey back was a smooth one with minimal traffic on the road. However, there was a queue for those who were traveling from Brunei to Miri after lunch. I left home for dinner quite early since I got ready earlier. I arrived 10 minutes earlier than our original scheduled meet up time. I called in to book for a table the day before as Little Audrey’s Café can be quite packed for dinner.

Without further ado, let me show you what we had for dinner yesterday evening …

Green Tea Latte | B$5.50

matcha green tea, steamed milk

Their Green Tea Latte tasted sweet and yet bitter at the same time. Despite that I love green tea with bittersweet taste, this one was however not to my liking. I think it was my pounding headache at the time which caused me not to be able to enjoy the Green Tea Latte properly? I will give this another try next time.

Roasted Pumpkin Soup | B$5.90

with garlic bread

As there were three of us at the dinner yesterday, I ordered a soup to share. Jennifer and I tried their Wild Mushroom previously and we both liked it. My colleagues on the other hand aren’t so keen of cream based soup so I ordered Roasted Pumpkin Soup. Three big thumbs up from us.

Seafood Spaghetti Marinara | B$12.90

One of my colleagues handed me the task of ordering for her. I ordered her Seafood Spaghetti Marinara since she loves pasta. As usual, cream based pasta is a big no no for her. The pasta sauce was well flavored and loaded with extremely generous portion of seafood!

Green Curry Chicken Baked Rice | B$9.90

I was intrigued to try their Green Curry Chicken Baked Rice when it was being posted on their social media platforms. Their Green Curry Chicken Baked Rice is served with a big portion of aromatic lemongrass infused white rice along with chicken chunks topped with their green curry sauce.

The sauce is made from scratch with Thai green chilies. It was spicy but bitter at the same time. Despite I like spicy food, the spiciness was too much for me to handle and I resorted to packing it home for Dad as he loves spicy food as much as I do.

Grilled Chicken Sandwich | B$12.90

with caramelized onions, bell peppers, cheese, sliced avocado and honey mustard sauce, served with fries

My colleague was expecting an old fashion sandwich served with triangular white toast. LOL! We agreed that the fries are good. Little Audrey’s Café serves one of the best fries in town in my opinion.

Nasi Lemak Ayam | B$5.90

We ordered this as an extra dish when we were halfway through with our dinner. One of my colleagues was craving for rice and we ordered Nasi Lemak Ayam to share. I remembered that they have both mild and spicy version of their sambal paste. I requested for mild sambal paste this time round fearing that it would be too spicy for me to handle just like the Green Curry Chicken Baked Rice.
