Happy New Year! I know I am late with greeting but it’s better late than never. I had finally finished watching Meteor Garden 2018 some time earlier this week. I was quite surprised that the series turned out a lot nicer than what I had anticipated when I started watching. I think it was one of the best Mainland drama series that I had watched to date.

As I had mentioned in my previous posts, I personally find that the Mainland version was more interesting than the Japanese, Korean and Taiwanese versions. Jia had even commented that she had watched Meteor Garden 2018 twice.

The Third Charm

I had transferred The Third Charm into my iPad and only to find that the story didn’t catch my attention on first episode. Perhaps I am not used to the nerdy character of Seo Kang Joon in The Third Charm? LOL!

I still prefer the him from Are You Human? in spite that the robot him can be quite nerdy too. I remembered that I was once asked which version of Seo Kang Joon that I liked more in Are You Human? and I actually preferred the human version of him.

Accidentally In Love

I can’t seem to continue watching The Third Charm and I decided to switch to this Mainland drama series. I am currently on the second episode and the storyline seemed pretty funny as of now. There haven’t been much new Mainland drama series for me to download and it goes the same for Korean drama series as well.

Of Random Things #208

Good morning! My colleagues and I would be having a birthday dinner tonight. It’s not my birthday, if you are wondering. The birthday lady herself mentioned that she wanted a place that uses fork and knife as eating utensils. I assumed that she was implying Western cuisine. LOL!

There is a Western restaurant in the city which I have yet tried and it has been around for quite some time. San Diann who had been there previously mentioned that the food were good. I’ll try tonight and hopefully the food would be as good as how he claimed.

I had finished watching Devilish Charm for more than a week. Instead of resuming with another K-Drama, I chose to watch Meteor Garden 2018 this time round. The series was 50 episodes long and I think it was one of the longest Mainland drama series which I had ever downloaded.

Meteor Garden 2018

I had watched various adaptations of Meteor Garden – Taiwanese, Japanese, Korean and Chinese. To be honest, I think this Chinese version is by far the best of all and my least favourite was probably the first and foremost Taiwanese adaptation of Meteor Garden.

The characters were better looking than the casts from before and the storyline was softer. F4 from Meteor Garden 2018 wasn’t the bullying kind comparatively to the other three adaptations from before. Have you watched the recent Chinese adaptation of Meteor Garden and what are your say? Now that TelBru brought back the top-up for unlimited usage of two days, I don’t have much to download. San Diann had even sent me the said advertisement when TelBru had posted it on their social media platforms. LOL!

I still managed to download a bit with my existing remaining Internet quota for the month. I do have quite a lot left as I hadn’t been downloading much. There weren’t much new Korean series releasing at the moment. One of the highly anticipated ones for the month of December is probably My Strange Hero.

Of Random Things #203

I wanted to make Doenjang Jigae this morning but Mom told me not to as she wanted to use up the lotus roots for soup. I have got all the ingredients needed last Friday evening. I had previously tried the Doenjang Jigae from Korean Restaurant, Miri and it was spicy but nonetheless good.

After Doenjang Jigae, I will be attempting Gamjatang soon. Not sure if it was due to the K-drama series which I had been watching recently, I had been interested to attempt Korean cuisine at home. I had been tempted to make Bibimbap at home but the process could be tedious for all I know as you need to stir fry each and every ingredients individually.

Late November and early December are the airing months for a few highly anticipated Korean drama series of the year. I managed to download them up to date. I think there is another series airing on this coming Monday but I had forgotten the title of the said drama series.

Memories of Alhambra

Memories of Alhambra is one of my highly anticipated Korean drama series of the year. Reason being, I am quite a fan of both the leads. I had watched a small part of the first episode and stopped. I’ll wait until it had completed airing before I start watching it for real.

To be honest, I wasn’t expecting much when I came to know of the combo for the leads. Surprisingly, Sister said that the drama series started off pretty good. I took her words for it and watched a small part of the drama series. It was better than what I anticipated in the first place. Park Bogum definitely has his charm on screen.

We are now in the last month of the year and will be entering a brand new year in about 30 days. Time passed by so quickly this year. When you were younger and still schooling, you would wonder why do time move on so slowly and vice versa when you get older.

I was discussing with Sister whether we should go traveling in the coming Chinese New Year. To be honest, it is too late now to book air tickets for certain few hot destinations as the fares would be horrendous. It’s not expensive to travel to Kota Kinabalu (KK) on the days that I had chosen but accommodation could be expensive. The hotels which I had checked, the price had sky rocketed.

We went Miri for an overnight trip on the last CNY but I don’t feel like going for the next one. Miri could be boring during CNY as most of the cafes are closed for the festival. Some local eateries even double their price or increase by 20% to 30%.

Anyways, I had finished watching Black Knight: The Man Who Guards Me yesterday evening. The ending was different comparatively to the other romance genre that I had previously watched. The male lead lives long and doesn’t age while the female lead ages and eventually pass away.

Devilish Charm

As usual, I am always in a dilemma when choosing which drama series to watch next after finishing one. I considered watching Meteor Garden 2018 but I ended up transferring Devilish Charm into my iPad. LOL! I had started half of the first episode this morning and the storyline was pretty good in my opinion.
